El Dorado International Airport (BOG), also known as Bogota airport, is the largest international hub in the area, serving over 32.7 million passengers a year. The airport is located just 11 km away from the city centre of Bogota, taking around 20 minutes to reach by car or by taxi.
To make your way to downtown Bogota, your driver will head southeast toward “Aeropuerto Transporte Público – Carga”. They will then take a right onto “Aeropuerto Transporte Público – Carga” and then left onto “Av. El Dorado”. After this, your driver will then take the “Av Boyacá al Norte” exit which will merge into “Av. Boyacá”. Finally, they will turn right onto Cl 127, where they will use local roads to reach your Bogota hotel.

Local taxis in Bogota calculate their fares using a taximeter, depending on the time and distance travelled. Usually, the 20-minute journey from BOG airport to Bogota city centre costs around €5.35 (23,800 COP). Please note that various factors can further affect the price, such as an airport surcharge of €1 (4,400 COP), and an extra fee of €0.45 (2,000 COP) will be asked for trips between 20:00 and 05:00, Sundays and public holidays.
