Prices of taxis in Thessaloniki are regulated by the Greek government, so you can always be sure that you are receiving a fair price. Thessaloniki taxis don’t offer set-rate fares, instead, they use a taximeter based on distance to calculate the fee. It’s worth noting that there is a minimum spend of €3.47 for every Thessaloniki taxi ride, so even if your distance travelled is under this price, your driver will automatically charge you at least this for your fare.

How to get a taxi in Thessaloniki
Once you’re in the city centre of Thessaloniki, getting a taxi couldn’t be easier. You can choose to hail a taxi from the street by looking for the official blue taxis with a white roof and sticking out your arm or waving at the driver, by walking to a taxi rank or calling one of the radio companies.
If you choose to take a Thessaloniki taxi from a rank, you can easily find them around the city at tourist attractions, at major transport hubs such as the airport, the Train Station, the Macedonia Intercity Station and the Port, and along the main streets; Mitropoleos Street, Aristotle Square, Pavlou Mela Street, Tsimiski Street and Egnatia Street.
Your final option is to call one of the four official radio taxi companies in Thessaloniki. This is a great option if the weather is bad or it’s late at night and you wish to wait inside for your Thessaloniki taxi. Bear in mind that this service carries an extra charge.
