Travel safely with Welcome Pickups
Net Safety Score
We’ve introduced a metric indicating how safe travellers feel when using our services during the COVID-19 pandemic. After every ride, we ask each traveller to leave a review.
20 minute gap between transfers
Following each ride, our drivers have at least 20 minutes to thoroughly clean the surfaces of the car and ventilate the cabin.
Regular Car Sanitisation
Our drivers thoroughly sanitise and disinfect cars according to Welcome Safety Protocol
When you book, you can request to have zero contact with the driver during the transfer with just one click. In this case, the driver won’t help you with your luggage or shake hands.
Sanitiser in every car
We provide hand sanitisers and hand wipes for all our travellers. Our drivers have their own sanitiser, which they use before and after every ride

Directions for your Al Maktoum DWC airport transfer
As the newer airport of Dubai, Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), also known as Dubai World Central, is currently the main host for lower-cost airlines, taking significant pressure off Dubai’s main airport. Al Maktoum airport is located south-west of the city, 52 kilometres away from the downtown area. Taking a taxi from Al Maktoum International airport shouldn’t take more than 40 minutes under normal traffic conditions. The journey into the city centre of Dubai starts by heading north from the airport compound and then turning right onto Sheikh Zayed Avenue. This avenue passes straight through the heart of the city, so from here, your driver will use the local roads to reach your hotel.
Why choose a Dubai World Central taxi?
Dubai is a very busy city with many different public transport networks. Although their trains and buses are efficient, none of these services will be able to guarantee the safety of your personal belongings during your transfer, nor will they drop you off directly at the door of your hotel. For this level of service, you will need to choose an Al Maktoum airport taxi.
Cost of a taxi from Al Maktoum International airport
Unfortunately, the local drivers at Al Maktoum airport don’t give a set-rate fee for the journey into Dubai. They will charge you using a taximeter based on distance. Although costs for things such as luggage and late-night driving may be added, the average cost for this DWC airport taxi ride is €37. To enjoy the peace of mind of a set-rate fee, we suggest booking your Al Maktoum airport taxi transfer in advance with Welcome Pickups.
