Net Safety Score
We’ve introduced a metric indicating how safe travellers feel when using our services during the COVID-19 pandemic. After every ride, we ask each traveller to leave a review.
20 minute gap between transfers
Following each ride, our drivers have at least 20 minutes to thoroughly clean the surfaces of the car and ventilate the cabin.
Regular Car Sanitisation
Our drivers thoroughly sanitise and disinfect cars according to Welcome Safety Protocol
Contactless ride
When you book, you can request to have zero contact with the driver during the transfer with just one click. In this case, the driver won’t help you with your luggage or shake hands.
Sanitiser in every car
We provide hand sanitisers and hand wipes for all our travellers. Our drivers have their own sanitiser, which they use before and after every ride

Taxis can be easily hailed in the street, picked up at a taxi rank or messaged on WhatsApp.

Taxi prices in Cancun
Taxis in Cancun have rates set by the syndicate, based on Zones. However, it is quite common for drivers to change these rates or simply make up their own as these prices aren’t enforced. To secure a fair rate, we suggest agreeing to one with your driver before you begin your journey.
The most expensive area to travel by taxi is the Cancun Hotel Zone. An average taxi journey in this small area is €3.30 ($80 MXN), making it one of the most expensive areas in Mexico. The cost of an average journey in the city centre, however, is much cheaper at around €1.00 ($30 MXN). If you’re looking to travel between the downtown area and the Cancun Hotel Zone, expect to pay no less than €7.50 ($180 MXN).
Taking a Cancun airport taxi to downtown Cancun will cost around €25. A transfer from Cancun airport to the Hotel Zone will be a little more expensive at €30.

How to get a taxi in Cancun
Taking a taxi in Cancun couldn’t be easier as there are thousands buzzing around the city. Official taxis in Cancun are white with a dark green line down each side and a ‘TAXI’ sign on top. All Cancun taxis must also have their unique taxi number clearly printed on both sides of the taxi. If you’re out in the city centre, you can easily hail a taxi in the street by sticking out your hand. Many drivers will also do a quick beep of their horn when passing pedestrians to signal that they are free.
If you’d prefer, you can also walk to a taxi rank, called taxis ‘In Situ’. There are many dotted around the city centre, outside Plaza las American, on Nadar, in Cancun Hotel Zone outside the ADO bus station and at most major shopping areas. Keep in mind that the taxi rates from a ‘Situ’ are usually much higher than if you catch a taxi from the street.
Your final option is to contact a WhatsApp taxi company. These are regular Cancun taxi drivers that have formed an unofficial group on WhatsApp to allow them to pick up people from designated places. You simply give them your location and tell them where you want to go and then they will provide you with your taxi’s number and how long it will take for them to pick you up. Taking a WhatsApp taxi in Cancun is the best way to secure a fair rate, but there’s usually an extra charge of €0.60 ($15 MXN) for this service. Two trusted WhatsApp taxi companies are:
Taxi Cancun: +52 1 998 148 9592
Radio Taxi Cancun: +52 1 998 204 0293
