Travel safely with Welcome Pickups
Net Safety Score
We’ve introduced a metric indicating how safe travellers feel when using our services during the COVID-19 pandemic. After every ride, we ask each traveller to leave a review.
20 minute gap between transfers
Following each ride, our drivers have at least 20 minutes to thoroughly clean the surfaces of the car and ventilate the cabin.
Regular Car Sanitisation
Our drivers thoroughly sanitise and disinfect cars according to Welcome Safety Protocol
Contactless ride
When you book, you can request to have zero contact with the driver during the transfer with just one click. In this case, the driver won’t help you with your luggage or shake hands.
Sanitiser in every car
We provide hand sanitisers and hand wipes for all our travellers. Our drivers have their own sanitiser, which they use before and after every ride

Cost of a Prague Taxi
Taxi fares in the Czech Republic are officially set by cities or districts. The base taxi tariff in Prague was last set in October 2017 and published in the official tariff ordinance. It is binding for all companies within the downtown area and may not be exceeded or undercut. This is ensured by officially calibrated taximetres installed in the taxis.
Boarding fee (flag drop) – 40 CZK (€1.65)
A ride in the district of the capital city of Prague – 28 CZK/km (€1.06/km)
Waiting – 6 CZK per minute (€0.25)
It is worth mentioning that fares outside of Prague are not limited/regulated (most taxi companies charge 25 CZK/km)(€0.96). A ride from Prague to Karlovy Vary costs approximately 3,400 CZK (€130), while a trip to the airport is 570 to 670 CZK (€22-25).

How to get a Taxi in Prague
Getting a taxi in Prague is a piece of cake. There are quite many of them driving around the centre and most of the local drivers speak or understand basic English. You can hail a taxi from the street, download a Czech taxi app or walk to the nearest rank.
There are several taxi stands scattered around the city near famous attractions and populated areas. Well-known taxi ranks include Hybernska street, National Theatre and Namesti Republiky.
Each vehicle has to be equipped with a permanently installed roof sign with the ‘TAXI’ light. The registration number, company name and price list must be also displayed on both front doors of the taxi.
For customers that would rather stay inside during cold months, we recommend ordering a taxi with Welcome Pickups, or at the 24-hour dispatching offices where the information on fares is available in advance. There are also plenty of taxi apps available that can book a taxi on the spot. Taxi Praha (+420 222 111 000) and Modry Andel Taxi (+420 737 222 333) are the most solid Prague taxi companies.
