The airport is a major hotspot in the city, and it serves over 3 million passengers yearly travelling to Tampa Bay.
The route from Sarasota airport to downtown Tampa takes almost one hour via the US-41 N highway/ S Tamiami Train and the Selmon Expressway, which leads you straight into Downtown Tampa.
