Madeira (or Funchal) Airport is geographically important as it’s located on a piece of land jutting out over the sea. FNC is located 21 km away from the capital Funchal, so taking a Madeira airport taxi shouldn’t take longer than 20 minutes.
Once you’re sitting comfortably in your Madeira airport taxi, your driver will head North to Ac. ao Aeroporto Internacional do Funchal. After around 600 meters, your driver will take the E.R. 101 ramp towards Funchal, before merging onto the VR1. You will follow this road for around 8 km, before taking Exit 11 to Funchal Centro. You will then take a right onto Travessa da Fundoa de Baixo, a left onto Estrada da Fundoa, followed by the 3rd exit onto Estr. Cmte. Camacho de Freitas at the roundabout. Finally, you will take a left towards Caminho do Lombo Segundo and will follow this road into the heart of Funchal.
