Directions from Zanzibar International Airport to Downtown
Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) is the main airport in the Zanzibar Archipelago and brings in around 350,000 travellers yearly. Located a short 5 km away from the city centre, the famous Stone Town, it takes 15 minutes to reach by car or taxi.
So when leaving Zanzibar International Airport, your Welcome transfer driver will head north toward Nyerere Rd. Here your driver will turn right onto Benjamin Mkapa Rd before turning left onto New Mkunazini Rd. Your Welcome driver will turn right into Stone Town and take the local roads to get you to your Zanzibar hotel.

Taxis and airport transfers in Zanzibar charge based on fixed prices. Most taxi companies charge the same fee, with a one-way to Zanzibar city centre costing $15 (€14.80). Please note that most taxis in Zanzibar charge their prices in US dollars.
