Taxi fares in Murcia are strictly regulated by the state, making it a very safe and reliable transportation option, even for tourists. All taxis are equipped with a taximeter and the fare is calculated based on the distance travelled. This applies to all routes except for airport taxi rides to the city centre, as there is a “Unique Airport fare” of €29 to get to the downtown area.

There are also some fixed charges like €1.30 for pickup at a bus station, rail station or port, €0.60 for every suitcase of more than 10 kg, €1.30 for travelling with pets – except for a guide dog, €2.10 on Fridays, Saturdays and public holiday eves from 20:00 to 08:00, and €3.50 on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve from 20:00 to 08:00.
