Net Safety Score

We’ve introduced a metric indicating how safe travellers feel when using our services during the COVID-19 pandemic. After every ride, we ask each traveller to leave a review.

  • 20 minute gap between transfers

Following each ride, our drivers have at least 20 minutes to thoroughly clean the surfaces of the car and ventilate the cabin.

  • Regular Car Sanitisation

Our drivers thoroughly sanitise and disinfect cars according to Welcome Safety Protocol

  • Contactless ride

When you book, you can request to have zero contact with the driver during the transfer with just one click. In this case, the driver won’t help you with your luggage or shake hands.

  • Sanitiser in every car

We provide hand sanitisers and hand wipes for all our travellers. Our drivers have their own sanitiser, which they use before and after every ride

Reliable and Convenient Sarajevo Airport Transfers

Sarajevo International Airport is the main airport of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital and in the past few years, it has been receiving travellers from all over the world. This means that it can get quite busy so if you want to ensure that you won’t have to wait for a taxi, booking your Sarajevo airport transfer in advance is your best choice; that way you’ll enjoy a seamless travel experience and reach your hotel or other destination quickly and comfortably.

All Welcome drivers are English-speaking professionals, who have been hand-picked to operate safe and reliable airport transfers. After you’ve made your booking and as your transfer approaches, you’ll be assigned a Welcome driver and you’ll receive their photo and contact information so that you know who to expect. You’ll also notice that during the booking process you’ll be asked to fill in your flight number; that is so that your driver can monitor your flight and adjust the pickup time accordingly in case of a delay. That way, you won’t have to worry about what will happen to your booking and you can be sure that you’ll still get your transfer. After your driver has greeted you warmly, they can assist you with your luggage, if you wish so, and they’ll lead you to the pre-selected vehicle. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride to your hotel.

With Welcome Pickups, you get more than an airport transfer; our drivers are locals who will be happy to share their knowledge about their city and are ready to answer any questions you might have about the culture, must-see attractions or less-known spots. They can also help you book your return transfer back to the airport – just make sure to ask them to do so before you say your goodbyes!

"Anabelia, our tour guide was wonderful. She guided us through history and food and made great suggestions and enabled us to understand Greek culture and the food. I would highly recommend this tour.”

Getting to the City Centre with your Sarajevo Airport Shuttle

Sarajevo Airport is located about 8 kilometres southwest of the city centre. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes, depending on traffic and you can monitor the route on your phone during your Welcome ride. Once you exit the airport’s parking area, you’ll continue to Kurta Schorka/M18. You will then head towards Safeta Hadžića, turn left onto Zvornička and then turn right onto Vilsonovo šetalište. You’ll then continue straight onto Kotromanića and follow the local roads in Sarajevo city centre depending on where your hotel is located.

Why Choose a Welcome Sarajevo Airport Taxi

Welcome Pickups Sarajevo Airport transfers are the fastest and most reliable way to get to your destination, no matter what time your flight arrives. Instead of lining up in long queues or having to look for which bus to take, you’ll have a professional, English-speaking driver waiting for you, ready to take you wherever you need to go in your private vehicle. The booking process takes only a couple of minutes to complete and you’ll pay in advance so that you won’t have to worry about currency or if the taxi accepts card payments. With Welcome you get more than an airport transfer, you get a friend on the ground that will enhance your travel experience.

Sarajevo Airport Taxi Fares

Taxis in Sarajevo are equipped with a taximeter, which must be in use during the whole trip. There is a single fare that applies throughout the day and there can be additional charges for luggage. For a transfer from Sarajevo Airport to the city centre the average fare is about €10 (KM 20) but that may vary, depending on traffic conditions. Even though overall, Sarajevo taxis are safe and reliable, you should avoid any individual drivers who claim there is a set fare, as that isn’t the case. To ensure you know what you’ll pay in advance, you can book a Welcome Pickups Sarajevo Airport taxi instead.

Frequently asked questions

Do Sarajevo airport taxis offer set fares based on the destination?

All Sarajevo taxis are equipped with a taximeter and the total fare is calculated based on the distance driven. For transfers around the city, it is mandatory for the driver to reset the taximeter at the base fare of €1 (KM 1.90) and use it during the whole ride. For longer trips outside the city limits, you can agree with the driver on the price beforehand to ensure that you’ll know how much you’ll pay in advance.

Where will I meet my Welcome driver?

Your Welcome driver will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall right after you claim your luggage. They’ll be holding a sign with the name under which you made your booking and you’ll easily recognize them as you’ll have received an email with their photo and contact information beforehand. If, however, you can’t spot your driver, you can contact them via Whatsapp or the Welcome Pickups traveller app.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Your transfer will still be operated! While you complete your Welcome Pickups booking, you’ll be asked to submit your flight number. That is so that your driver can monitor any delays and adjust the pickup time accordingly. Even if the assigned driver isn’t available at the new time, a new driver will be assigned to operate your transfer.
