Kathmandu Taxi Prices
Kathmandu taxi fares are usually negotiated with the driver before starting the ride. If your driver has a meter in their vehicle, you can also request that the meter determines the fare. Generally, the fare can be estimated by a base rate of €0.50 (NPR 60) and a per kilometre rate of €0.40 (NPR 49). You can expect to pay a higher taxi fare at night.
If you’re travelling from Kathmandu airport to downtown, fixed pre-paid fares are in place and can be found at the Airport’s relevant taxi booth; The fare from the airport to the city is estimated to cost around €2.40 (NPR 305) during the day.
